“Moonshaped is a live band and its concept is ‘party’. Through performances at numerous open-air festivals and various clubs, the formation is already well-known locally. Now, Moonshaped wants to show that its music not only convinced the m4music jury, but that it will also appeal to a larger audience and get people dancing.”
Biography
What happens when jazz goes out of control? Of course, there will undoubtedly be a carnage of sound. This is also the destiny of Moonshaped. In 2003, the band was founded as the final project for jazz school, and today it makes electronic music – raw, fast and mercilessly direct!
On stage, the band combines loops from the laptop with drums, bass and synthesizer, which they beat, pluck and turn for all their worth. And thus a unique and highly danceable mixture of drum'n'bass, electrobreakpunk and lo-fi disco is created that gets techno freaks, rockers and poppers bouncing all around equally.
Participants:
Since 2006, the trio from Baden has comprised Manuel Sulzer (drums), Elias Kohli (bass, synth, programming) and Andi Schmied (bass, synth, programming). Depending on the size of the event, further guest musicians (vocals, saxophone etc.) support the band.
The band is on the look out for festivals and clubs where they would like to perform. They are also looking for a booking agency with which they want to work seriously.
